Wouldn't this also make nearly all the music on Ipod's and MP3 players illegal and make these gadgets useless.

If they uploaded songs from CDs it would, but not if they buy them from online music stores. Although all together it is stupid for them to make uploading CDs to your computer or MP3 player illegal.

They want you to buy it as many times as necessary. Buy the album, your wife likes it and wants a copy for her car? Go buy it again!
